Governor Extends CBD Oil Education Period, Enforces Moratorium On Raids, Fines & Arrests

Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb has extended the state’s short-term moratorium on CBD-related confiscations and arrests to give state lawmakers more time to legalize CBD oil for all Hoosiers. Holcomb’s original order was set to expire at midnight. Friday’s announcement extends it through the end of the legislative session. The 60-day moratorium, which Holcomb announced in late November, ordered state agencies not to seize CBD oil products, fine businesses or arrest CBD oil users just days after Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill released an opinion stating CBD oil is illegal under state and federal law. “I said back in November that I was open to extending the education period on CBD oil products to give legislators the time they need to add clarity to Indiana law,̶...

Last year, lawmakers introduced another version of the legalization bill which included the option for ret...

Study Reveals CBD Can Help People Quit Cigarettes

New research out of Britain reveals that marijuana maintains a chemical that can help fight cigarette addiction. Researchers at the University College London published an article last month in the journal Addictive Behaviors that found that a non-psychoactive chemical in marijuana, cannabidiol (CBD), given via inhaler could significantly reduce the number of cigarettes consumed by smokers that wanted to quit. The Study – One way could be how CBD affects memories, or cues, that hold the desire to smoke. “We found that CBD seems to reduce the salience of cues. It’s shown to be beneficial to patients with any of several medical conditions – and it doesn’t get the user “high” like THC, which makes doctors more likely to recommend it, especially for children. The most commonly associated with CBD are epilepsy, arthritis, anxiety and depression. A study run by European company G.W. Pharmaceuticals is in their final phase of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved clinical trials for a product called Epidiolex (a CBD based medication), have proven its efficiency in treating rare forms of epilepsy. CBD Oil Users Shouldn’t Fear Arrest According to the DEA

CBD Oil Users Shouldn’t Fear Arrest According to the DEA   Early in 2017, the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission and state excise police went on the hunt for CBD. Officers raided several grocery stores and other retail outlets that were selling CBD oil products, citing that the businesses were violating state law for possession of cannabis. When this was exposed, it was not long after that they started going after the CBD oil users instead. This caused a media uproar and caught national attention – and even the attention of those at the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). First, Indiana’s Attorney General Curtis Hill wrote a letter, reminding people he did not support the idea of marijuana legalization, but that the possession of CBD oil is no longer a crime in the state (Gover...

Does CBD Have Side Effects?

Does CBD Have Side Effects? One of the reasons that CBD is so popular and has gained interest as a medicine in the eyes of federal administrations like the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is because it has virtually no side effects. The main reason that cannabis is disregarded by many healthcare professionals still is because of the “high” associated with it’s use. While it may be beneficial to some, there are others who want the medicinal benefits without the added “intoxication” that follows. To avoid this, many doctors will recommend patients turn to CBD oil, or CBD based medicines. Unlike THC (the cannabinoid in cannabis that is responsible for making the user feel “high”), cannabidiol does not create those feelings and will not lead to side effects like sensory awareness, paranoia,...

Can CBD Replace ADHD Medications?

Can CBD Replace ADHD Medications? While some conditions, like epilepsy and arthritis, have been extensively researched by several separate groups and researchers over the last decade. Most, if not all, of these studies have pointed to positive outcomes when CBD, or cannabidiol, was added to the treatment for patients with these conditions. However, there are many other conditions that CBD may have the potential to treat, even if there haven’t been many studies on them so far. One of these conditions is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Patients with ADD or ADHD live with problems concentrating, especially in an overstimulating environment. They may find themselves focusing intensely – but on the wrong thing. For example, reading posters o...
