80 Percent of CBD Users Claim it to be Extremely Effective
As the scientific data finally starts catching up to patients anecdotal stories it begins to prove that cannabidiol, or CBD, is beneficial for those suffering from a number of medical ailments. A survey conducted as a collaborative effort from HelloMD and Brightfield Group researched 2,400 of HelloMD’s 150,000 members to get their opinions on whether CBD is an effective alternative to other medications – and the results they got were surprising to some, while not so much to those who already reap the benefits of CBD.
According to their research, 80 percent of CBD consumers found that the products they used were “very or extremely effective” with fewer than 3 percent finding the products to be “slightly effective or ineffectual”. This means that for a large majority of patients who have turned to CBD as a safe alternative to pharmaceuticals have found that CBD is effective in relieving their symptoms.
“If people are able to cut down on opioids … and even anti-inflammatories … it’s a huge win for anyone that wants to try and get off traditional medication or finds that it doesn’t work,” Dr. Perry Solomon, chief medical officer for HelloMD, explained to Ganjapreneur. “That being said I think people need to be very cognizant of what and where they are purchasing just in terms of the quality of the CBD.”
Of those surveyed, 42 percent of CBD users reported using CBD oil in place of Tylenol or prescription pain medications such as Vicodin – suggesting that it can be a safe and effective alternative for over-the-counter and prescription pain and anti-inflammatory medications.
“People are increasingly looking to vape as opposed to flower or as opposed to other product types because it’s a healthier method of consumption,” she said. “Particularly for CBD, there’s more products available and when it comes to CBD people want to go toward more packaged products. … It’s fast-acting and it’s reliable.”
When it comes to consumption, most people prefer vaping concentrates like oils or wax when compared to smoking a high CBD flower when they are looking for immediate results. Those who are looking for longer lasting effects prefer edibles – and overall, CBD is growing into a preferred alternative to anti-anxiety and anti-depressant prescriptions as well as pain medications – and according to 80 percent of consumers, it works wonders.
